WTS 2013 Commencement
Wartburg Theological Seminary honored thirty-five degree and certificate candidates at commencement exercises on Sunday, May 19th. Graduates of WTS will serve the church and world providing leadership to congregations and other ministry settings as pastors, teachers, youth leaders, diaconal ministers, chaplains, associates in ministry, and a variety of other positions.

The Rev. Dr. Douglas John Hall, Emeritus Professor of Christian Theology, McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada, delivered this year’s commencement address and received an Honorary Doctor of Divinity. The Rev. Shelley Rae Wickstrom, Bishop of the Alaska Synod, also received an Honorary Doctor of Divinity degree.

The Living Loehe Award, named after Wartburg Seminary’s founder Wilhelm Loehe, honors individuals who have given distinguished service to and through the church. This year’s honorees included Judith Eberhard Bailey, Else Maria Schardt, The Rev. Dr. Ronald Frederick Schardt, and Jean Elizabeth Hubbell Peterson. Click here to learn more about this year's recipients.

Wartburg Youth Leadership School
June 23-29, 2013
Wartburg Youth Leadership School (WYLS) continues for its 14th year this upcoming summer! High school students from across the country will gather on Wartburg's Campus to worship, study, lead, and partake in adventure. Led and guided by Wartburg's students and faculty, this event will help high school students look at their gifts for leadership and explore who God has created them to be. In the Footsteps of Egeria: A Holy Land Pilgrimage to Places, Peoples, and Peace
January 2-17, 2014

You are warmly invited to join Dr.Thomas Schattauer, Professor of Liturgics and Dean of the Chapel, and a group of students from Wartburg Theological Seminary on this pilgrimage to the Holy Land. The Holy Land is a place that exists in the imagination of every Christian as we hear and read the stories of the ancient people of Israel and the stories of Jesus' life and ministry, his death and resurrection. This journey will be an opportunity to connect our religious imagination to many of the historic biblical sites as they exist today in Israel and Palestine and to explore the witness and work for peace among Jews, Christians, and Muslims.
