David Berg to Speak on
Faith and Business
The entire community is invited to join Wartburg Theological Seminary as we host David Berg on Friday, November 7, 2014 from 5-6:30 p.m. A soup supper will start at 5 p.m. and Berg’s forum on Faith and Business will start at 5:30 p.m. in Wartburg Seminary’s Weiblen Commons.
David Berg is a native of Fargo, North Dakota. He currently serves as President & CEO of American Crystal Sugar, where he has worked in various roles since 1987. He is a Lutheran lay leader, and he has been invited to Wartburg Seminary to reflect on the intersection of Christian faith and business. Mr. Berg is a leader in both national and international agribusiness and has recently guided his company through one of the most significant labor lock-outs in recent US business history. He will explore the challenges of living one’s faith in daily life.
Come to the Castle
Wartburg Seminary, together with the Tri-State Forum, will sponsor a new continuing education program this fall for clergy and congregational members. Known as "Come to the Castle," the program will include adult Bible study sessions for individuals from congregations that will be led by final-year Wartburg students. Clergy will be invited to accompany their congregational members and will have sessions specifically for them that include lectionary study of texts for upcoming seasons led by members of the Wartburg faculty. Come to the Castle will be offered on November 21. Click here to learn more or to register.
