In 2005, the Kansas State University Department of Agriculture Economics named Phillip as Distinguished Alumnus. He is the President of Tumbleweed Chorus Barbershop group and has received the award for Barbershopper of the Year Award.
Phillip resides in Brewster, Kansas and attends Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, where he serves a leader to the church and five point parish Certified Parish Ministry Associate. In 2009 Phillip was elected to be a representative to the ELCA Church-wide Assembly. Phillip has been serving on the board for four years.
What has serving on the WTS Board of Directors meant to Phillip?
It has opened a wide door on our Lutheran educational system for me. We have had a rough financial ride. I hope that my steady hand and wealth of experience can help in our transition to a leaner, more focused Wartburg seminary.
