Ray Tiemann is a WTS alumni. He holds positions on various boards, including Texas Lutheran University Corporation and Lutheran Social Services of the South and the Lutheran Foundation of the Southwest and St. Luke's Lutheran Healthcare Ministries.

Serving as a pastor since 1979, Ray became a Bishop in 2000 of the Southwestern Texas Synod. He currently resides in Fredericksburg, Texas where he attends Bethany Lutheran Church. He served on various congregational boards and organized a local food pantry. This will be his ninth year serving on the board.

What has serving on the WTS Board of Directors meant to Ray?
As a member of the Board to my alma mater, it has been a privilege and a struggle to serve. Changes in theological education and the church has greatly challenged the ministry of WTS, but I am proud of the excellent leaders that continue to come out of the process.
