WE COME BEFORE GOD

Opening Hymn "The Harvest, The Bounty"

*Confession & Forgiveness

P: Let us confess our sins to God who has promised to forgive us through Jesus Christ our Lord.

C: Merciful God, we confess that we have not loved You with our whole heart. We harvest the fruits of the land, yet forget that You are the true source of all we have. We sometimes forget that the land and all that is in it is Yours and we are just the stewards. We cry out to You when the skies bring no rain and the harvest is stolen by an unjust price, but are silent when all is well. Forgive us, Merciful God. Make our love for You grow like a seedling to the providing light. Amen.

P: As earth yields its increase of beauty and the promise of fruit to come, so God supplies grace without measure.

C: With light and peace, God dawns in the hearts of faithful people. Christ rose that we might know this love of God.

P: Believe this day in the good news: We are all forgiven!

C: Amen.

*Hymn of Praise "Give Thanks"

Prayer of the Day

God of all seasons, we give You thanks for the beauty of creation and especially, this day, for the fruits of the earth that abound. May we ever be mindful that all good gifts come from You and may we ever give thanks for the fruits of the Spirit that lead us forth in faith for the sake of Your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

GOD SPEAKS TO US

Micah 6:6-8

With what shall I come before Lord and bow down before the exalted God? Shall I come before Him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old? Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousand rivers of oil? Shall I offer my first born for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

Psalm 92 105, 11-14

P: It is a good thing to give thanks to the Lord, and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High;

C: to tell of Your loving kindness early in the morning and of Your faithfulness in the night season;

P: on the psaltery, and on the lyre, and to the melody of the harp.

C: For You have made me glad by Your acts, O Lord; and I shout for joy because of the works of Your hands.

P: Lord how great are Your works! Your thoughts are very deep.

C: The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree and shall spread abroad like a cedar of Lebanon.

P: Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God;

C: they shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be green and succulent;

P: that they may show how upright the Lord is, my rock, in whom there is no fault.

Children's Message

Luke 17:11-19

Now on His way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. As He was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met Him. They stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, "Jesus, Master, have pity on us!: When He saw them He said, "Go show yourselves to the priests." And as they went, they were cleansed.

One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus' feet and thanked Him - and he was a Samaritan. Jesus asked, "Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?" Then He said to him, "Rise and go; your faith has made you well."
