Do you long for a chance to get away, even for just a day, in prayer and reflection? Have you been hearing a still, small voice calling to you, and want to go somewhere that’s quiet and peaceful to listen and discern more closely and intentionally?
You are invited to join us on the campus of Wartburg Theological Seminary. This annual discernment retreat usually takes place on a Saturday in February. This intimate and meaningful retreat is designed to give you the space and time you need to contemplate your vocational calling. (This occasion also gives you a chance to visit our seminary without needing to give up a mid-week work-day).
Now, you may be wondering, "why would I want to go to Dubuque, IA in February?" But actually, it is a perfect time…as the ground is getting ready to burst forth with spring life….so is our spirit. But we need to take a bit of time to cultivate it, so we provide this day to do just that.
Join Wartburg Seminary staff, faculty and students, as together we spend a simple, Spirit-filled day engaging in ancient spiritual practices; sharing stories and exploring scripture; hearing and singing meaningful music and centering ourselves in worship and prayer. You can also take this opportunity to ask current students why they came to seminary and how they make it work; hear and share awesome insights; and consider more deeply how God may be calling you to something new.
The day is no cost to you and it includes lunch, beverages and snacks. And if needed, overnight accommodations can also be arranged at no cost. If you are interested in attending, please contact Rev. Karla Wildberger , Director for Admissions, for the date of the next upcoming retreat.
