Wartburg offers a distributed learning opportunity for students choosing to complete a Master of Arts degree. This option could appeal to those currently serving in a ministry setting or for those who, for a variety of reasons, may not be in a position to relocate to Dubuque. The distributed learning program normally takes three years.
Year 1 (Distributed, 19 semester hours)
FALL TERM (September - January)
Fall Prolog Week (early September): 1 credit on campus (1 course)
September - December: 6 credits online (2 courses)
January Intensives: 3 credits on campus (3 courses)
SPRING TERM (February - June)
Spring Prolog Week (early February): 1 credit on campus (1 course)
February - May: 6 credits online (2 courses)
June Intensives: 3 credits on campus (2 courses)
Year 2 (Distributed, 20 semester hours)
FALL TERM (September - January)
Fall Prolog Week (early September): no requirement
September - December: 6 credits online (2 courses)
January: Cross Cultural Requirement (3 credits, on-campus or travel course)
SPRING TERM (February - May)
Spring Prolog Week (early February): no requirement
February - May: 5 credits online (3 courses)
Year 3 (Distributed, 19 semester hours)
FALL TERM (September - January)
Fall Prolog Week (early September): 1 credit on campus (1 course)
September - December: 6 credits online (2 courses, plus start of project)
January: 3 credits Independent Research for project
SPRING TERM (February - May)
Spring Prolog Week (early February): 1 credit on campus (1 course)
February - May: 6 credits online (2 courses)
SUMMER: at least 4 credits of project work to complete the major MA project and any additional hours of independent study to meet minimum of 56 hours.
Total Number of Credits = 56 semester hours
