Carl H. Schoss is a 1963 graduate of WTS. He has served three parishes (First, San Marcos, St. Martin's, Austin, TX; Lord of Life, Austin, TX) for a total of 45 years as a parish minister. He was the Mission Developer and Founding Pastor of Lord of Life Lutheran Church.
Carl earned a Doctor of Ministry Degree from Andover-Newton Theological Seminary, Newton, MA. He has served on the Conference and District Youth Committees, and has been involved in producing special events for four National Youth Gatherings. He was responsible for developing a conference outreach committee that has become the model for the Synod.
In the fall of 2008, Carl became a member of the Board. He currently resides in Austin, Texas and attends Triumphant Love Lutheran Church.
What has serving on the WTS Board of Directors meant to Carl?
It has been a revelation into the decisions that need to be made and the process that goes into the making of decisions that will advance the mission and of Wartburg Theological Seminary.
