Accreditation

Wartburg Theological Seminary is accredited by the Commission on Accrediting of the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada, 10 Summit Park Drive, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15275-1103, (412) 788-6505, www.ats.edu, and by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association, 230 South La Salle Street, Suite 7-500, Chicago, Illinois 60604, (800) 621-7740, www.hlcommission.com. The seminary is approved for the degree programs it currently offers: Master of Divinity, Master of Arts, and the Master of Arts in Diaconal Ministry. The seminary is approved by ATS for a Comprehensive Distance Education Program. The seminary was reaccredited in 2008 for a ten-year period.

Notification of re-accreditation

Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa is seeking comments
from the public about both Wartburg Seminary and the Lutheran
Seminary Program in the Southwest in Austin, Texas, in preparation for
its periodic evaluation by its regional accrediting agency. The Seminary
will host a visit 26-27 February 2018 with a team representing the
Higher Learning Commission. Wartburg Theological Seminary has been
accredited by HLC since 1976. The team will review the institution’s
ongoing ability to meet HLC’s Criteria for Accreditation.

The public is invited to submit comments regarding the Seminary to the

Comments must address substantive matters related to the quality of
the institution or its academic programs. Comments must be in writing.

All comments must be received by 30 November 2017.

In addition, Wartburg Theological Seminary is also seeking comments
from the public in preparation for its periodic evaluation by the
Association of Theological Schools. Wartburg has been accredited by
ATS since 1944. Wartburg will host a visit 26 February-1 March 2018. The
team will review Wartburg’s ongoing ability to meet the Standards of
the ATS.
