Wartburg Seminary’s Master of Divinity program prepares leaders for Word and Sacrament ministry through a theological curriculum that challenges and transforms, formation in spiritual practices, and contextual learning–all in a strong learning community rooted in faith in Jesus Christ.
The Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree program at Wartburg Theological Seminary is an innovative program that prepares leaders to be ordained to the ministry of Word and Sacrament in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and other denominations.
With a committed faculty and a curricular emphasis on forming leaders for the changing church, Wartburg seminary continues to form dedicated, resilient, and adaptive leaders for the sake of the gospel.
A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 2.5 GPA is a requirement for admission to our Master of Divinity program, but we do have some exceptions for outstanding candidates who do not have a Bachelor’s degree. The M.Div. degree is delivered in residential, collaborative, and distributed learning pathways, each of which is designed to fit your life and ministry context while keeping you fully connected to the Wartburg community.

Download Now ›Our Master of Divinity offers the option of a concentration as a means to develop specialization in an area of ministry. A concentration consists of a minimum of 10 credits in a specified area of emphasis.
