A Psalm Immersion Concert: Singing Lament, Gratitude and Wonder. A sing-along concert with Richard Bruxvoort Colligan

March 30 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Whether we are rejoicing with gratitude, wailing for justice or sputtering in wonder, there’s a psalm for that. Come for a relaxed evening of music for all ages featuring stories, laughter and lots of music from the psalms.

Richard Bruxvoort Colligan’s business card reads “Psalmist.” A student of the psalms, Richard makes his way in the world as a composer and teacher using music with lifelong spiritual formation. He earned his MA in Theology and the Arts from United Theoligical Seminary of the Twin Cities and has had songs published by the ELCA, UMC, UCC and PC(USA). Richard is the weekly psalm correspondent of the Pulpit Fiction podcast, had taught Psalms courses at Wartburg and Eden Seminaries and publishes two new worship songs each month via his Patreon feed. He lives in Strawberry Point, Iowa with his wife Trish, teenage son, Sam, and Willow the dog. Be welcome at PsalmImmersion.com and Worldmaking.net for free listening.
March 31, 2017 – Come to the Castle Presenter: Richard Bruxvoort Colligan

Singing the Psalms in the 21st Century

Our worshiping tradition has had the psalms at its core for millennia. What value do these ancient songs have today as part of lifelong spiritual formation and how might we sing them today? Come for study, reflection and community singing in a variety of styles.

Clergy and laity will be together with Richard throughout the day.
