Former Presiding Bishop Mark Hanson

The Rev. Mark Hanson served as presiding bishop of the ELCA from 2001 to 2013. Before being elected bishop, he served as bishop of the Saint Paul Area Synod and pastor of three Minnesota congregations. From 2003 until 2010, he was president of the Lutheran World Federation. Serving with this global communion of Lutheran churches, Hanson has traveled widely, sharing a confident hope in God’s promises and a vision of the joyful freedom in Christian community and mission. He has been an advocate for the renewal of the church’s  public voice, for the strengthening of ecumenical and inter-religious relationships, and for reconciliation and justice in society.


Rev. Ginger Anderson-Larson

Ginger Anderson-Larson 2 22 15Ginger Anderson-Larson has formally been receiving spiritual direction for 24 years and serving as a spiritual director for 15 years. She has lived a lifetime of experiencing the ever present reality of God’s grace and presence in the midst of growing up on a farm, being newly married and a missionary teacher in Madagascar, mother and pastor for over 30 years, and grandmother and teacher of Spiritual Practices at Wartburg Seminary in the past 10 years.


Dr. Diane Jacobson

jacobson_diane_150wDr. Diane Jacobson retired as director of the Book of Faith Initiative for the ELCA in 2015, having held that position since 2007. She is also professor emeritus of Old Testament at Luther Seminary in Saint Paul, MN where she taught from 1982-2010. Jacobson is a frequent speaker throughout the Church, including the 2011 Churchwide Assembly. Her main academic areas of teaching and publishing have been in Wisdom and Psalms.


Dr. Winston Persaud

Winston PersaudDr. Winston D. Persaud is Professor of Systematic Theology at Wartburg Theological Seminary. He is a native of Guyana, where he served his home congregation, Redeemer Lutheran Church, prior to joining the Wartburg faculty. His teaching and research are focused on defining and confessing the gospel of Jesus Christ in a world of religious and non-religious alternatives. He seeks to speak of God’s justifying grace in and through Jesus Christ in a way that makes the technical language of Scripture and the Confessions connect with the questions people are asking.


Rev. Lucille “CeCee” Mills

CeCee Mills

The Rev. Lucille “CeCee” Mills is the revival preacher at this event. She grew up in Greensboro, N.C.  She completed her seminary studies at The Lutheran Theological Center in Atlanta, Georgia. She served her first ten years of ministry in the Virginia Synod. She currently serves as Program Associate for African Descent Ministries for the ELCA as deployed staff from its headquarters in Chicago, Illinois while also serving as interim at Family of Faith Lutheran Church in Concord, North Carolina.
