Wartburg Theological Seminary recently hosted its annual ReFormation & Reunion celebration, welcoming alumni, students, and friends for a weekend centered on connection, renewal, and the shared work of faith in action.
The event brought together generations of Wartburg graduates and supporters, offering a meaningful opportunity to reconnect with one another and with the seminary community. Throughout the weekend, participants took part in worship, conversations, and interactive sessions designed to reflect both the rich traditions of the church and the evolving realities of ministry today.
Worship services anchored the gathering, creating space for reflection and spiritual renewal. In addition, attendees engaged in panel discussions featuring alumni voices, small group conversations, and workshops that explored topics such as leadership, preaching, and navigating change in a complex world.
A highlight of the weekend was the opportunity for storytelling and shared experience. Alumni spoke candidly about their ministry journeys—celebrating joys, acknowledging challenges, and offering insight into the many ways Wartburg graduates are serving communities across the country.
Equally important was the sense of community that defined the event. For many, simply reconnecting with classmates and meeting others with similar life experiences—whether in rural ministry settings, family life, or different stages of career—was a powerful reminder of the lasting relationships formed at Wartburg.
The weekend also emphasized the importance of rest and renewal. Alongside structured sessions, attendees were encouraged to step back from their daily responsibilities and spend time in reflection, conversation, and community—creating space not just for learning, but for being.
ReFormation & Reunion continues to be a meaningful tradition at Wartburg, reflecting its commitment not only to education, but to supporting leaders throughout their lives and work. As participants departed, they carried with them renewed energy, strengthened connections, and a shared sense of purpose for the road ahead.
