Descripción del curso: Quién es Jesús y qué conozco de el a través de las artes y la cultura popular. Este curso estudiará las representaciones de Jesús en las artes visuales como la pintura, el cine y el arte gráfico, a lo largo de la historia desde su contexto religioso y cultural. Discutiremos cómo estás han contribuido a la interpretación de los textos bíblicos y el entendimiento de los Sagrado. Además, analizaremos cómo estas representaciones de Jesús impactan la cultura, la iglesia y nuestro entendimiento de Jesús como figura central del cristianismo.

Course Description: Who is Jesus and what do I know about him through the arts and popular culture? This course will study the representations of Jesus in visual arts such as painting, film and graphic arts throughout history; from its religious and cultural context. We will discuss how these have contributed to the interpretation of the biblical texts and the understanding of the Sacred. We will also analyze how these representations of Jesus influence culture, church and our understanding of Jesus as the central figure of Christianity.

Los estudiantes completarán sus cursos utilizando las plataformas de aprendizaje a distancia del seminario de Wartburg de forma asincrónica (en su propio tiempo). El curso tendrá una duración de 6 semanas a partir del 12 de abril de 2021.

Students enrolling in the course will complete their coursework using Wartburg Seminary distance learning platforms asynchronously (on their own time). The course will run for 6 weeks beginning on April 12, 2021.
