Wartburg Theological Seminary is pleased to serve as the host site for a day of practical workshops designed for church musicians and worship leaders and planners who are serving in congregations of diverse sizes and contexts. Engaging and dynamic presentations by skilled and experienced practitioners (see below) have been designed to help promote The Association of Lutheran Church Musician’s (ALCM) mission to nurture and equip musicians “to serve and lead the church’s song.”
All workshop sessions are designed to encourage full and active participation in worship through the support and nurture of congregational song.
Specific topics will include:
- Psalmody and Song Leadership with voice and guitar.
- Choral music reading sessions and consideration of teaching and leadership skills for small choirs for both adults and children.
- Assembly Song Leadership from on, and off, the Bench: organ and piano.
- Young People as Worship Leaders: Invite, Include and Involve.
Workshop registration fees are $45.00 for adults; $20.00 for students, and include a full lunch and morning and afternoon snack refreshments. For an additional fee, overnight housing is available at Wartburg Theological Seminary for June 22 and/or June 23.
For housing information only, contact Lynn Baumhover.
