Wartburg Theological Seminary Board of Directors Adopts Three Year Strategic Plan
In this era of church and world, the good news of Jesus Christ is as urgent as ever. Wartburg Theological Seminary (WTS) has a critical role in preparing proclaimers of the gospel and leaders of faith communities in the world. Because of the significant work of so many who have gone before us and the many with whom we now serve – our boards, faculty, staff, donors, friends – WTS is in a strong place. We have a deeply faithful, creative, mission-minded faculty. We have seasoned administrators, dedicated board members, and an extraordinarily loyal alumni and donor base. We have seven consecutive years of balanced budgets. We are stable, missional, nimble, creative, and unencumbered by mergers, moves, or leadership transitions. Certainly, it is a worthwhile endeavor for us to direct our work toward sustaining our institution into the future. WTS’ mission and tradition have served the gospel and the world for generations. God has been faithful to us. But to stop there would be to betray our own tradition. Indeed, it is precisely because of this tradition, this mission, this community, and our God that we have a particular calling to meet the changing leadership needs of the church and boldly step into the future.
