Archives have been deemed the collective memory of an organization. The Archives of Wartburg Theological Seminary house the records of the seminary from its early roots in 1840 to today and include personal files, historical documents, photos, and selective records of the life of the Seminary and those who taught here and attended the seminary. The WTS Archives also contain the documents of the German Lutheran Synod of Iowa, 1854-1930 and the records of antecedent bodies of the ELCA Region 5.

Collections include records, papers, correspondence, sermons, writings, historical documents, photographs, maps and drawings, ordinations, congregation anniversaries and other valuable items that reflect the collective memory of the Life of the Seminary then and now.
